Adobe Acrobat X Pro is infinitely faster in comparison. The big drawback I noticed for both apps are how slow they are to boot up or to use as PDF readers. Regardless of which setting I selected, my scans turned out badly. It insisted on defaulting to some "ScanGear" scanning interface, which may be connected to my Canon Pixma printer/scanner, but no other software forced that crap on me. Nitro Pro 13 seems more full-fledged with a decent interface too, and it supports Swedish for OCR, but for some reason any scan I tried turned out to look like shit. PDFelements has a nice UI (though surprisingly many language/spelling errors in the interface for such a "premium" product), but unfortunately the available OCR languages are limited, lacks Swedish in my case. Decided to try the trials for both Wondershare PDFelements and Nitro Pro 13.
